France's national anthem literally tells citizens to water the soil with the blood of enemies.

"La Marseillaise" (1792) contains the line "Watering our fields with their impure blood." Composed during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror, it's a brutally violent war cry that hasn't been changed despite France becoming a modern democracy. Nations don't re-write anthems because doing so suggests the original sentiment has become shameful.
