SIDDES ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SIDDES mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, username, and optionally your profile photo, bio, location, and website URL.

Content You Create: We store the flips you post (Side A and Side B text, images, and videos), comments, reactions, and takes you submit.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, flips engaged with, time spent, device type, operating system, and browser type. This helps us improve the experience.

Device Information: We collect device identifiers, push notification tokens, and IP addresses for security, analytics, and delivering push notifications.

Cookies & Local Storage: We use essential cookies and browser local storage to maintain your session, remember your preferences (such as theme), and improve performance. See Section 7 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve the Service, personalize your feed and discovery experience, deliver push notifications you have opted into, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, communicate with you about your account, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

Public Content: Your profile information (display name, username, avatar, bio) and any flips you post with "public" audience are visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines.

Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party services that help us operate (hosting, database, email delivery, push notifications, error tracking, analytics). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently erase your personal data, flips, comments, and reactions within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your authenticated session and remember your theme preference. We use analytics events (processed server-side) to understand usage patterns. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie consent banner.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage, rate limiting, CSRF protection, and Content Security Policy headers. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

9. Children's Privacy

SIDDES is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. International Users

If you are accessing the Service from outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be transferred to and processed in a different jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws including the GDPR for European users.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
